One speaker, two roles

Most portable speakers force a choice: a home Wi-Fi speaker that stays in one system, or a Bluetooth speaker that lives apart from it. The Move 2 removes the split. At home it sits on its included wireless charging base and behaves like any other Sonos speaker: group it with other rooms, stream over Wi-Fi 6, use Apple AirPlay 2, and control it with Sonos Voice Control or Amazon Alexa. Pick it up by the integrated handle, press the Bluetooth button, and it pairs with a phone as a Bluetooth speaker for the garden, a picnic or travel, with no network required. Tuning, controls and privacy

Automatic Trueplay tuning continually optimises the sound for the environment and the content playing, using the far-field microphone array, so the speaker sounds right on a kitchen counter or a terrace without manual adjustment. The Sonos app adds adjustable EQ for bass, treble and loudness. Capacitive touch controls handle play, pause, skip, replay, volume, voice assistant mute and grouping, and status LEDs show connection and microphone activity. A mic switch on the back physically disconnects power to the microphone hardware when voice control is not wanted. The battery is replaceable, which supports long-term serviceability, and the USB-C port can charge a phone from the speaker’s battery while out.
