The Beosound Stage is Bang & Olufsen’s Dolby Atmos soundbar, designed by NORM Architects as a piece of aluminium-and-fabric furniture that happens to contain an eleven-driver, 550-watt sound system. Eleven drivers, one bar

The Stage’s driver complement is unusually complete for a single enclosure: four 4-inch woofers, four 1.5-inch full-range drivers and three 3/4-inch tweeters, each powered by its own 50 W Class D channel under DSP control. The centre tweeter and full-range array keep dialogue focused, while the angled side and top drivers create the Atmos height and width effects. Maximum output is 100 dB SPL at one metre — full cinema level for its recommended 10 to 60 square metre rooms.

Atmos without a subwoofer

Most soundbars delegate bass to a wireless subwoofer box; the Stage instead integrates four long-throw woofers with Adaptive Bass Linearization, which manages excursion to extract clean low frequencies down to 32 Hz at real listening levels. The trade is cabinet size — the bar is 110 cm wide and 8 kg — against a system with nothing else to place, pair or trip over.

Television integration

One HDMI connection with eARC carries audio from the television, and a second HDMI input accepts a player or console directly with 4K HDR passthrough (HDCP 2.2). The Stage wakes and follows volume from the TV remote over CEC, and with LG C9-series televisions it integrates with the Beoremote One via its VLAN connection. Acoustic Placement Settings adjust the output for table or wall mounting.

Music when the TV is off

With AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, TuneIn radio and Bluetooth, the Stage works as the room’s music system in its own right, and Beolink Multiroom groups it with other Bang & Olufsen speakers. A 3.5 mm line-in covers a turntable or legacy source.

Finishes and the range

The Stage is offered in a small set of curated combinations — aluminium frames in natural, bronze and black tones, an oak variant, and Kvadrat fabrics — of which this Black Anthracite / Dark Grey pairing is the most discreet under a television.
