TAGA Harmony TAV-507 5.0 Speaker Package (Black)

TAGA Harmony TAV-507 5.0 Speaker Package (Black)

The TAGA Harmony TAV-507 5.0 package is a complete five-speaker home cinema set in Black from the new generation of TAGA Harmony’s Audio-Video series. It combines a pair of TAV-507F floorstanding speakers for the front channels, a TAV-507C centre speaker and a pair of TAV-507S surround speakers. Every speaker in the set uses the same 1-inch silk dome tweeter with a second-generation TWG-I waveguide faceplate and polypropylene cone bass and midrange drivers, so the tonal character stays consistent as dialogue and effects move around the room. No subwoofer is included: this is a 5.0 foundation to be driven by an AV receiver, with a subwoofer added later if a full 5.1 system is wanted.

Key Features

• Complete 5.0 set: 2 x TAV-507F floorstanders, 1 x TAV-507C centre, 2 x TAV-507S surrounds
• TAV-507F fronts: 3-way, 4 drivers — 1-inch silk dome tweeter, 5.25-inch midrange, dual 5.25-inch woofers
• Fronts: 42 Hz to 25 kHz, 89 dB sensitivity, 6 ohms, 20 to 120 W recommended, 90 W RMS
• Second-generation TWG-I tweeter waveguide for wide, even dispersion
• TLIE-I enclosures with 18 mm MDF front baffle, internal bracing and quality damping material
• Front-firing BOM bass-reflex port on the floorstanders
• Centre and surrounds use 4-inch polypropylene bass-midrange drivers and the same tweeter
• Factory wall mounts on centre and surround speakers
• Gold-plated binding posts accepting cables up to 10 AWG
• Nylon feet and aluminium spikes included for the floorstanders

Matched Drivers Across All Five Channels

Film soundtracks constantly move voices and effects between speakers, and the centre channel carries most of the dialogue. If the centre speaker is voiced differently from the fronts, a voice changes character as it crosses the screen and the illusion breaks. TAGA addresses this by building the whole package around one tweeter design — a silk dome unit with ferrofluid cooling and an oversized magnet — and one polypropylene cone family. The TAV-507C centre uses two 4-inch bass-midrange drivers flanking that tweeter, and each TAV-507S surround uses one, so pans stay seamless and dialogue remains anchored to the picture.

TLIE-I Enclosure and Front Port

The second-generation Taga Low Interference Enclosure thickens the front baffle of the floorstanders to 18 mm MDF, adds internal bracing and uses higher-grade damping material to control standing waves and cabinet resonances, with the enclosure depth increased to 25.9 cm for better bass performance. The bass-reflex port fires from the front and uses TAGA’s BOM module with concave diffusers for low-turbulence airflow. A front port is a practical advantage in real rooms: the towers can stand closer to the wall behind them than rear-ported designs allow, without the bass becoming exaggerated.

Driving the System

The front speakers present a 6-ohm load with 89 dB sensitivity and a recommended amplifier range of 20 to 120 W, with crossovers at 250 Hz and 3 kHz in the three-way design. Those figures put the package comfortably within the capability of entry-level and mid-range AV receivers; high sensitivity means realistic cinema levels without high power. The floorstanders stand 92 cm tall (96.5 cm including feet and spikes), are 17 cm wide and weigh 10.5 kg each, and the centre and surround speakers carry factory wall mounts for straightforward installation.

Where the TAV-507 Package Fits

The TAV-507 5.0 package suits living-room home cinema builds planned around an AV receiver, particularly where a matched set is preferred over assembling five separate speakers over time. It works as a complete system for film and television as supplied, and as the foundation of a 5.1 system once a powered subwoofer is added for the dedicated low-frequency effects channel.
