ADAM Audio SUB-7 Subwoofer

ADAM Audio Sub7 – Compact 7-Inch Studio Subwoofer With Remote Control

The ADAM Audio Sub7 is a compact active subwoofer designed to extend the bass response of small nearfield studio monitors. Its 7-inch woofer and purpose-built amplification add the low-frequency foundation that compact monitors cannot reach on their own, in a footprint small enough for project studios, edit suites and desktop-based rooms.

What sets the Sub7 apart in its class is control. A supplied remote lets you adjust level and crossover from the listening position, where bass balance can actually be judged, instead of reaching behind the cabinet. For engineers mixing in small rooms, that combination of compact size, genuine low extension and seated control makes the Sub7 a practical tool rather than a compromise.

Why small monitors need a subwoofer

Compact nearfield monitors are accurate through the midrange but roll off before the lowest octaves, which leaves kick drum weight, bass fundamentals and film effects partly unheard. Decisions made without that information do not translate: mixes come back boomy on large systems or thin on small ones. The Sub7 fills in the missing range so the monitoring system covers the full spectrum, letting you hear sub-bass problems, control low-end balance and check that a mix will survive playback on everything from headphones to club systems.

Setup and remote-controlled tuning

Place the Sub7 on the floor near the front wall or between the main monitors as a starting point, set the crossover so the subwoofer takes over where the monitors roll off, and then use the remote to trim level from the mix position. Small level changes are audible at the seat and invisible at the cabinet, which is why remote adjustment matters in practice. In small rooms, modest level and careful placement beat maximum output: the aim is seamless extension, not a separate bass event.

Who the Sub7 suits

Choose the Sub7 for project studios, post-production edit rooms and composer setups built around compact nearfield monitors that need honest low-frequency extension. It suits engineers who check bass-heavy music, sound design and broadcast mixes in rooms too small for a large subwoofer. If your monitors tell the truth everywhere except the bottom octave, the Sub7 is the compact ADAM Audio answer that completes the monitoring system properly for everyday professional studio work and reliable low-frequency checking.
