The Revel Concerta B1 Powered Subwoofer is a compact 12-inch powered subwoofer with a 250 W amplifier and three-band parametric EQ for accurate, room-corrected bass.
The Revel Concerta B1 Powered Subwoofer is a compact powered subwoofer from Revel’s Concerta series, designed to add accurate, authoritative bass to stereo and home theatre systems without dominating the room. A front-firing 12-inch woofer with a micro ceramic composite diaphragm is driven by a built-in 250 W RMS amplifier, reaching down to 36 Hz at −3 dB in a bass-reflex enclosure with a down-firing port. The Revel Concerta B1 Powered Subwoofer stands out for its three-band parametric equalizer, which lets the owner correct the room-induced peaks and dips that most affect low frequencies, and it is finished in Black to match Revel Concerta loudspeakers and most modern interiors.
Why Choose Revel Concerta B1 Powered Subwoofer?
Discerning listeners choose the Revel Concerta B1 Powered Subwoofer because it treats bass as part of the music, not just as impact. The stiff, light micro ceramic composite woofer — aluminium anodised on both sides — stays controlled at high output, so bass lines stay tuneful and film effects stay tight rather than boomy. The three-band parametric EQ is the real differentiator: where most subwoofers offer only volume and crossover, the Revel Concerta B1 Powered Subwoofer lets each of three bands be adjusted for frequency, level and bandwidth, so a room boom at one frequency can be tamed without thinning the rest of the bass. A continuously variable 50–150 Hz low-pass crossover, phase control and line-level RCA inputs make the Revel Concerta B1 Powered Subwoofer easy to blend with bookshelf or floorstanding speakers in 2.1 stereo or multichannel systems.
Key Features
12-inch MCC woofer: a front-firing micro ceramic composite driver with 1.5-inch peak-to-peak excursion.
250 W RMS amplifier: a built-in amplifier rated 250 W RMS / 300 W dynamic for clean high output.
Deep, controlled extension: low-frequency extension to 36 Hz (−3 dB), 32 Hz (−6 dB) and 29 Hz (−10 dB).
3-band parametric EQ: frequency, level and bandwidth controls to correct room response problems.
Variable crossover: a continuously variable 50–150 Hz low-pass crossover, 24 dB/octave, plus phase control.
Compact Black cabinet: a bass-reflex enclosure in Black, 450 x 400 x 336.5 mm with grille.
Best Suited For
The Revel Concerta B1 Powered Subwoofer suits home theatre owners adding proper low-frequency weight to a Concerta or mixed-brand speaker system, and stereo listeners who want their bookshelf speakers to reach full-range sound without replacing them. It fits medium living rooms and dedicated media rooms, and its parametric EQ makes it especially valuable in rooms with obvious bass boom or dead spots. Buyers with very large rooms or a taste for extreme cinema levels may want a larger or second subwoofer, and the Revel Concerta B1 Powered Subwoofer is a wired, mains-powered unit, so it needs a nearby power socket and a line-level feed.
Setup and Connection Guide
Place the Revel Concerta B1 Powered Subwoofer near the front speakers, ideally along the front wall, with clearance around the down-firing port underneath the cabinet. Connect the receiver or amplifier’s subwoofer or pre-out to the line-level RCA inputs, set the low-pass crossover to blend with the main speakers (typically around 80 Hz for bookshelf speakers), and set phase so bass sounds fullest at the listening seat. Use the three-band parametric EQ to reduce any single-frequency boom: cut narrowly at the problem frequency rather than turning the whole subwoofer down. Finally, balance the subwoofer level with the main speakers using familiar music, so bass supports rather than overwhelms the sound.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the the Concerta B1 wireless?
No. The B1 is a wired powered subwoofer. It connects with line-level RCA cables from a receiver or amplifier and needs mains power; it is not the wireless B8 model.
What does the the Concerta B1 parametric EQ do?
Its three-band parametric equalizer lets you adjust the frequency, level and bandwidth of three bands, so room-caused bass peaks and dips can be corrected without changing the overall bass level.
Can the the Concerta B1 be used with non-Revel speakers?
Yes. With standard RCA line-level inputs, a variable crossover and phase control, the B1 blends with most bookshelf and floorstanding speakers, not only Revel models.
