VSSL SX Speaker – The Wireless Speaker That Works Alone, in Pairs and as Surrounds

The VSSL SX Speaker is a wireless streaming loudspeaker with three jobs. It can run as a standalone music zone, pair with a second SX Speaker for true stereo, or join a VSSL SX soundbar and subwoofer as wireless surround speakers in 5.1, 7.1 or larger home theatre layouts. That flexibility is the SX idea: one speaker model that scales from a single room to a full system.

Sound comes from a wide-dispersion BMR driver paired with a 4-inch active down-firing woofer, a combination chosen to spread sound evenly around a room rather than beaming it at one seat. Streaming is native rather than bolted on: AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Spotify Connect are built in, so music is selected inside the apps you already use, with Siri and Google Assistant voice control supported.

Native streaming, explained

Many wireless speakers make you play music inside the manufacturer’s own app, which becomes the bottleneck between you and your library. VSSL’s Native Streaming approach works the other way: the speaker appears as a destination inside Spotify, Apple Music and other services through Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2 and Google Cast, so you keep the interface you know and the speaker simply plays what it is sent. For a multiroom system this matters daily, because guests and family can play music without learning new software or sharing accounts.

From one speaker to a wireless theatre

Start with one SX Speaker in a kitchen or bedroom. Add a second in the living room and they become a proper stereo pair. When film becomes the priority, an SX soundbar takes the front channels, the SX subwoofer handles the low end, and two or four SX Speakers move to surround duty, all linked wirelessly and grouped through the app. Ethernet ports on the speaker give installers a wired network option where Wi-Fi is congested, and the compact cabinet can sit on a shelf or mount on a wall.

Who the VSSL SX Speaker suits

Choose the SX Speaker if you are building a modern wireless home audio system in stages, or specifying one for a client who wants streaming everywhere without visible equipment racks. It suits design-led homes that plan to grow from one zone to a full theatre. Buyers who want a simple Bluetooth speaker for occasional use are buying more system than they need; this is infrastructure for the house.
