The Paradigm CI Home H65-IW v2 is a two-way in-wall speaker that mounts flush, leaving only a bezel-free, micro-perforated grille visible. Behind it sit a 6.5-inch mineral-filled polypropylene woofer and a 3/4-inch tweeter behind Paradigm’s exclusive Perforated Phase-Aligning lens. Sold singly, it builds into stereo pairs, home theatre fronts and surrounds, or distributed audio zones, and it is voiced to blend with the wider CI Home, CI Pro and CI Elite ranges so a house can mix series room by room without a change in character.

The PPA tweeter lens

The perforated lens in front of the tweeter does two jobs. Physically, it protects the delicate dome during installation and daily life. Acoustically, it works as a phase plug, blocking out-of-phase frequencies so high frequencies stay smooth and extended, with strong detail across a wide listening area rather than a single sweet spot. The tweeter itself is ferro-fluid damped and cooled, which keeps its performance consistent when a film soundtrack or a long listening session asks for sustained output. Listeners off to the side, on a sofa arm or at a desk, still hear a balanced treble rather than a dull shadow of it.

Measured, not guessed

Paradigm develops its speakers in partnership with Canada’s National Research Council, and the published figures for the H65-IW v2 reflect that discipline: response held to plus or minus 2 dB from 70 Hz to 20 kHz on axis and to 18 kHz at 30 degrees off axis, low-frequency extension to 55 Hz, and a second-order crossover at 2.5 kHz. The woofer’s computer-optimised magnet and high-power motor structure deliver clean, detailed midrange with bass that stays controlled, which matters in a wall cavity that cannot be tuned after the plaster dries.

Fitting and system use

The speaker needs a cut-out of 257 x 180 mm and just 70 mm of depth behind a standard half-inch wall surface. Overall dimensions with the grille are 283 x 206 x 87 mm, and each unit weighs 1.6 kg. Suitable amplifier power runs from 15 to 90 watts, with a maximum input of 60 watts, so ordinary AV receivers and multi-room amplifiers drive it comfortably. An optional PB-7X10N pre-construction bracket is available for new builds. Whether it disappears into a living-room wall as a stereo pair or works as surrounds beside CI ceiling models, the H65-IW v2 keeps the room looking clean and the sound unmistakably Paradigm.
