SVS SB-1000 Pro Sealed Subwoofer

SVS SB-1000 Pro – Reference Bass Control in the Smallest SVS Footprint

The SB-1000 Pro packs SVS’s 12-inch high-excursion driver and a 325-watt RMS Sledge STA-325D amplifier (over 820 watts peak) into a compact sealed cabinet that fits where ordinary subwoofers cannot. It is the entry point to the SVS Pro range, but the engineering – rigid MDF cabinet, conservatively rated amplifier, full app-based DSP – is the same discipline as the flagship models.

Sealed is the operative word. The SB-1000 Pro trades the last few hertz of extension for speed, definition and a gentle roll-off that integrates gracefully in small rooms, which is why it is as respected as a music subwoofer as it is a cinema upgrade.

The music listener’s subwoofer

Integrating a subwoofer with stereo speakers is a test of control: bass must arrive on time, at the right level, and stop when the note stops. The sealed SB-1000 Pro’s fast transient response and the app’s parametric EQ let you align it precisely – fill the speakers’ roll-off, trim the room’s main peak, and the subwoofer disappears, leaving only the sense that the main speakers grew. That invisibility is the hallmark of a good music sub, and it is this model’s party trick.

Small box, serious output

Do not mistake compact for quiet. The long-throw 12-inch driver and 325 watts of Sledge power pressurise small and medium rooms with genuine authority on film soundtracks; the sealed alignment simply refuses to boom while doing it. For many living rooms, it is all the subwoofer the system will ever need – and twin SB-1000 Pros, for smoother in-room response, remain an affordable upgrade path.

Who the SB-1000 Pro suits

Choose the SB-1000 Pro for stereo systems and home cinemas in small to medium rooms, especially where music quality and a discreet footprint matter. If the room is large or films dominate, compare the ported PB-1000 Pro; if control and compactness lead, this is the one.

Set-up guidance

Connect over RCA from a receiver’s subwoofer output or a preamp’s line out, set the SB-1000 Pro’s app controls to its defaults, and run your system’s calibration if it has one. Then fine-tune from the listening seat through the app: nudge level until bass lines sit naturally under the main speakers, and use the parametric EQ only against a clear room peak rather than as a tone control. The sealed design forgives placement near walls, which simplifies life in real rooms.
