Marshall Major V On-Ear Headphones – Brown

Marshall Major V On-Ear Headphones Brown – 100 Hours of Marshall Sound

The Marshall Major V in brown is an on-ear wireless headphone built around two things the Major line has always done well: the Marshall signature sound from custom-tuned 40 mm dynamic drivers, and a foldable, rugged frame that survives being thrown in a bag daily. This generation adds the longest battery Marshall has offered, over 100 hours of wireless playtime, so charging becomes something you do occasionally rather than weekly.

A customisable M-button on the earcup gives one-press access to a function you choose, such as Spotify Tap, an EQ preset or your voice assistant. The multi-directional control knob handles volume, tracks and calls without reaching for your phone, and the Marshall Bluetooth app lets you tune the sound and set battery preservation options.

Battery life that changes the habit

Most wireless headphones ask for a charge every week or two, which in practice means they are flat on the day you travel. At over 100 hours, the Major V stretches that interval to weeks of commuting or a month of desk use, and the 15-minute quick charge covers a full day if you do get caught out. Battery preservation in the app can limit charge behaviour to slow ageing, a thoughtful match for a battery intended to last years. Wireless charging means a pad on the desk keeps it topped up without cables.

Sound and fit, in honest terms

The tuning is warm and punchy, favouring guitars, vocals and drums with energy over flat studio neutrality, and the app EQ lets you pull it towards your taste. Presets sit alongside a custom equaliser in the app, so one setting for spoken word and another for rock can be swapped in seconds without retuning from scratch each time you change what you are listening to. As an on-ear design it sits on the ear rather than around it: lighter and cooler than a large over-ear model, with passive isolation only, since there is no active noise cancellation. For offices, streets and travel where you want some awareness of your surroundings, many listeners prefer exactly that.

Everyday details

The foldable hinges, textured finish and metal-reinforced headband carry the amplifier-inspired styling Marshall is known for, here in brown. A 3.5 mm cable is included for wired listening and for sharing audio with another headphone through the socket.

If your priority is a distinctive, long-lasting everyday headphone you rarely have to think about charging, the Major V in brown makes its case convincingly.
