Driver complement and output

Three-way working divides the range so each device does what it does best. The 15-inch driver, built on a 76.2 mm (3-inch) voice coil, moves the air needed for bass and low midrange down to 40 Hz. The 1-inch compression driver and horn handle the upper midrange and presence region where speech intelligibility lives, crossing over at 4 kHz, and the two piezo tweeters extend the top end to 20 kHz. The piezo on/off switch is a practical touch for PA work: in a hard, echoing hall, switching the piezos out softens the extreme top and helps control harshness and feedback tendency, while music programmes in a damped room benefit from them on.
