Expansion, protection and power backup
A preamplifier output at 200 mV and a line output at 1 V let the SSA-160DP feed a booster amplifier for larger areas or record the programme, and its line input accepts an external mixer, or lets this unit serve purely as a booster power amplifier in a bigger system. A resettable circuit breaker protects against overload and short circuit without fuses to replace. If the mains fails, the amplifier transfers instantly to 24 V DC from two 12 V car batteries, drawing 4 A, so announcements continue through a power cut.
