Amazon Echo Dot 4TH Gen With Clock Glacier White Smart Speaker

Amazon Echo Dot 4th Gen with Clock – Glacier White Alexa Speaker

The fourth-generation Echo Dot with Clock in Glacier White pairs Amazon’s compact spherical smart speaker with an LED display set into the front, so the time is readable across a bedroom or desk at a glance. A 1.6-inch front-facing speaker handles music, radio, podcasts and Alexa’s voice, and the display also shows timers, alarms and temperature when asked.

It is a mains-powered Alexa device: ask for music and information, set routines, and control compatible lights, plugs and other smart-home accessories by voice. The Glacier White fabric finish is the light colourway of this generation, suited to bright rooms and bedside tables.

The clock is the point of this version

The standard Echo Dot tells you the time only when you ask. This version shows it continuously, with brightness that adapts to the room, which makes it function as a proper bedside or desk clock as well as a speaker. Running timers show their countdown on the display, alarms are visible at a glance, and a tap on the top snoozes a sounding alarm without a word – the small interactions that make a clock-radio replacement actually work in daily life.

Alexa, routines and smart home

With Alexa built in, the Echo Dot handles questions, news, weather, reminders, lists and calls to other Alexa devices, and streams from compatible music services linked to your Amazon account. Routines tie actions together – one phrase or a set time can start music, read the calendar and switch on compatible lights. As a smart-home controller it works with the wide range of Alexa-compatible bulbs, plugs, locks and appliances, all set up and managed in the Alexa app.

Sound for personal listening

The 1.6-inch front-facing driver is tuned for near-field listening: clear vocals for radio and podcasts and enough body for background music in a bedroom, study or kitchen. For larger rooms, Echo devices can be grouped for multi-room music, two compatible units can form a stereo pair, and the 3.5 mm output can feed a bigger powered speaker when you want one.

Setup and privacy

Setup runs through the Alexa app: plug in the supplied 15 W adapter, connect to dual-band Wi-Fi and sign in. The device is mains powered and has no battery, so place it within reach of a socket. The microphone-off button physically disconnects the microphones and shows a red light when active, and voice recordings can be reviewed and deleted in the app.

In Glacier White, the Echo Dot with Clock is the bedside-friendly member of the Echo family – a visible clock, a capable voice assistant and a personal speaker in one small sphere.
