is the largest and most powerful subwoofer in the Klipsch SPL series, built around a 15-inch spun-copper Cerametallic woofer and a high-efficiency Class D amplifier rated at 400 watts RMS and 800 watts peak. With bass extension down to 18 Hz, it is made for home theatres and large listening rooms where low-frequency impact has to be felt as much as heard.
Klipsch SPL-150SW 15-Inch Powered Subwoofer pairs a long-throw 15-inch driver with a front-firing slot port with an internal flare, so placement against a wall or in a corner stays flexible without the chuffing and boom that rear-ported designs can suffer in tight spots.
Klipsch SPL-150SW 15-Inch Powered Subwoofer is the right pick when a smaller subwoofer runs out of headroom on movie night. The big Cerametallic cone stays rigid under load, so explosions and bass drops stay clean instead of turning muddy, and the all-digital amplifier keeps its composure at high output while drawing less power than older analogue designs. A low-pass crossover and phase control let it blend with the main speakers instead of drawing attention to itself.
Key Features
The SPL-150SW packs serious cinema hardware into a scratch-resistant ebony cabinet with shock-absorbing feet and a steel grille.
15-inch Cerametallic woofer: A long-throw spun-copper Cerametallic cone moves plenty of air with minimal breakup, for deep, clean bass.
400W RMS / 800W peak Class D amplifier: An all-digital amplifier delivers high output with excellent efficiency and control.
Front-firing slot port: The exclusive internal-flare port gives placement flexibility and reduces port noise.
18 Hz bass extension: Response down to 18 Hz covers the deepest movie and music content.
Wireless-ready: An optional Klipsch WA-2 wireless kit input removes the long cable run when placement demands it.
Best Suited For
Klipsch SPL-150SW 15-Inch Powered Subwoofer suits dedicated home theatres, large living rooms and music lovers who want full-range sound without a separate bass system. It pairs naturally with Klipsch Reference and Reference Premiere speakers, and its line-level and LFE inputs work with almost any AV receiver.
Setup and Connection Guide
Klipsch SPL-150SW 15-Inch Powered Subwoofer connects in minutes: run a single RCA cable from the receiver subwoofer or LFE output to the LFE input, or use the stereo line-level inputs from a two-channel preamp. Set the low-pass crossover to blend with the main speakers, flip the phase switch if bass sounds thin at the seat, and adjust gain until bass supports the sound rather than dominating it. For a wireless install, add the WA-2 kit and place the subwoofer where it sounds best, not just where the cable reaches.
