The QSC K12.2 is the reference point for powered PA speakers: a 12-inch two-way loudspeaker with a 2,000-watt peak Class-D amplifier module, onboard DSP with QSC’s Intrinsic Correction tuning, and a maximum output of 132 dB. DSP that does the system tech’s job

Intrinsic Correction applies hundreds of filters measured against the actual drivers, flattening response and aligning phase before you touch an EQ. Presets voice the speaker for live sound, dance music, stage monitoring, speech and more; user scenes store your own EQ, delay and input settings for repeat venues. A pair of K12.2s with saved scenes is a complete, repeatable PA system for a working band or rental inventory.

Inputs for real-world gigs

Channel A takes a microphone or line source, Channel B adds a high-impedance input for instruments alongside line level, and Channel C feeds a stereo 3.5 mm input for phones and backing tracks – all mixed to the XLR output for daisy-chaining. That makes the K12.2 a self-contained mini-PA for solo performers and presenters, not just a speaker.

Coverage and rigging

The 75-degree conical coverage keeps the sound consistent from front row to back without the hot centre spot of narrower horns. Tilt-down pole mounting aims the box at the audience in raked rooms, M10 points and an optional yoke cover flown installs, and the 55-degree wedge angle works for monitors.

System building with the K12.2

Used alone, a pair of K12.2 speakers covers audiences of a few hundred for speech and music. Add a powered subwoofer – QSC’s KS series is the natural match – and the same tops handle full-band live sound with headroom to spare, using the loudspeaker’s stored crossover and alignment scenes.
