QSC KS118 Direct Radiating 18-Inch Powered Subwoofer
The QSC KS118 Powered Subwoofer is a very high-output active subwoofer from QSC’s KS series, built around an 18-inch long-excursion direct-radiating driver and a 3600 W peak Class-D amplifier. It delivers up to 136 dB peak SPL with response down to 35 Hz, giving mobile entertainers, clubs, houses of worship and AV productions the deep, musical low end that small speakers cannot produce on their own. The QSC KS118 Powered Subwoofer adds onboard DSP with selectable crossovers, a DEEP mode for extra extension, delay and a cardioid mode for directional arrays, all in a rugged birch-plywood cabinet on heavy-duty casters.
Why Choose QSC KS118 Powered Subwoofer?
Professionals choose the QSC KS118 Powered Subwoofer because it pairs huge output with genuinely usable control. The 3600 W amplifier and long-excursion 18-inch driver stay composed at high levels, while the DSP lets the operator match the subwoofer to QSC full-range tops with an 80 Hz or 100 Hz crossover, add DEEP extension for music that lives below 60 Hz, or time-align the subwoofer to the mains with up to 100 ms of delay. With two or more units, the cardioid mode steers bass away from the stage, keeping the performance area cleaner for musicians. The M20 pole receptacle takes a 35 mm pole for a full-range speaker above the subwoofer, and the included casters make a 47 kg cabinet manageable for a single operator.
Key Features
3600 W Class-D amplifier: peak power driving an 18-inch (460 mm) long-excursion woofer.

Onboard DSP: 80 Hz / 100 Hz crossover, DEEP mode, delay and 5 user scenes.
Cardioid mode: directional arrays with two or more units, reducing bass on stage.
M20 pole receptacle: accepts a 35 mm pole for a full-range speaker above the subwoofer.
Rugged, mobile cabinet: 18 mm birch plywood with 4 heavy-duty low-noise casters included.
Best Suited For
The QSC KS118 Powered Subwoofer suits mobile DJs, live bands, clubs, event companies, houses of worship and AV rental houses that need authoritative bass for dance music, live drums and cinematic playback. It pairs naturally with QSC K.2 or KLA full-range speakers, and two units suit larger rooms or outdoor events where a single subwoofer would struggle. It is a professional, heavy unit: buyers should check transport, lifting help and floor space before ordering, and small rooms may be better served by the smaller KS112.
Setup and Connection Guide
Roll the QSC KS118 Powered Subwoofer into position on its casters and lock the working position, then connect the full-range signal from a mixer to the locking combo inputs and loop through to the top speakers where needed. On the DSP, select the 80 Hz or 100 Hz crossover to match the top speakers, enable DEEP mode only when extra low extension is wanted, and set delay if the subwoofer sits behind the mains. For a cardioid array, use two or more QSC KS118 Powered Subwoofer units and follow the manual’s forward/rear settings. Set gain conservatively at first, watch the limiter LED, and raise level gradually so the system stays clean.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the the KS118 a single subwoofer or a pair?
This listing is for a single KS118 subwoofer. One unit suits many medium events; two or more units are used for larger rooms and for cardioid arrays.
Does the the KS118 need a separate amplifier?
No. The 3600 W peak Class-D amplifier is built in. The subwoofer needs mains power and an audio signal from a mixer or processor.
Can the the KS118 be used with non-QSC speakers?
Yes. It accepts standard line-level signals and its selectable crossovers work with most full-range speakers, although the presets are tuned for QSC tops.
