Ahuja PA NBA-20DP Voice Amplifier

Ahuja PA NBA-20DP Voice Amplifier

The Ahuja NBA-20DP is a neckband PA voice amplifier set for people whose job is talking: teachers, tour guides, trainers and instructors who address a group for hours at a time. The compact amplifier hangs around the neck or over the shoulder, the supplied headband microphone keeps both hands free, and a maximum output of 12 watts lifts the voice across a classroom or a walking tour group without shouting. A built-in MP3 player adds music and recorded material from a USB drive or TF card, and the rechargeable battery means the set is ready again the next morning.

Why a neckband amplifier

Raising your voice over a class of forty students or an outdoor group all day is tiring, and a strained voice is a real occupational problem for teachers and guides. A body-worn amplifier solves it differently from a room PA system: the loudspeaker travels with the speaker, so the voice stays at a natural level while the amplifier does the work. At 340 grams including the battery, the NBA-20DP is light enough to wear for a full teaching day, and because it hangs from the neck or shoulder it leaves hands completely free for books, pointers, demonstration equipment or a walking stick on tour.

Headband microphone and inputs

The supplied headband microphone uses a condenser unidirectional cartridge positioned close to the mouth, which keeps the voice level consistent as the head turns and rejects much of the surrounding chatter. The 3.5mm microphone socket also accepts other Ahuja condenser microphones such as the CTP-10DX and UTP-30, used without their cell compartment, so the set can adapt to different presenters. A separate 3.5mm line input at 250mV sensitivity connects a phone, laptop, DVD or MP3 player, while the microphone input sensitivity is 1.0mV. Input levels are independent, so spoken commentary over quiet background music is easy to balance.

Built-in MP3 player and battery

The digital player reads MP3 files from a USB pen drive or a TF card of up to 16GB, which covers recorded lessons, pronunciation drills, background music for yoga and exercise sessions, and pre-recorded announcements. Playback runs from the same rechargeable lithium-ion battery that powers the amplifier, a 3.7V, 2000mAh pack charged through the supplied AC adapter. A low battery LED warns the user before the pack runs down, so the set can be charged between sessions instead of failing mid-lesson.

Who it is for

Ahuja positions the NBA-20DP for teaching, tour guides, yoga classes and play schools, and the same qualities suit coaching, fitness instruction, factory and warehouse briefings, market demonstrations and small group training. It is a personal amplifier rather than a hall system: it serves one speaker addressing a room or a modest outdoor group, indoors or outside, without any installation, speaker stands or trailing cables.

For anyone who speaks to groups every day, the NBA-20DP is a complete, wearable answer: headband microphone, 12W amplifier, MP3 playback and a rechargeable battery in one light neckband set.
